Shark Teeth Edged Sword from the Gilbert Islands Pre-Contact

Circa 19th century or earlier Shark Teeth edged sword from the Gilbert Islands. The Islands were so scarce on resources surrounded by shark populated waters that swords were made by mounting shark's teeth on palm wedge strips and bound with cords of woven human hair and palm leaves. The piece is mounted on later stand. Please note of wear consistent with age.
