The rectangular frame is divided into four slatted compartments, designed originally for sheet music or folios. Each corner is capped with a small brass finial, adding refined contrast to the warm mahogany. The turned uprights are crisply executed, resting on block supports with brass-mounted casters for ease of movement.

The lower shelf provides additional storage, while the rich patina of the mahogany reflects age and careful use.
