Pedestal Way Table
SKU F4FR6033H126
19th century pedestal way table of oval form, the hinged top opening to allow passage when placed in narrow circulation spaces. The top is banded with a molded and beaded edge above a tapering turned pedestal support, raised on a shaped triform base terminating in carved paw feet fitted with casters.
The table is constructed in richly figured hardwood, displaying a warm polished surface with pronounced grain and tonal variation throughout. The flip-top mechanism is smoothly operating, allowing the table to be placed flat against a wall or opened for use as a serving or display surface. The triform base provides both stability and visual balance, while the carved feet add a sculptural decorative element.
