Early 19th Century Monumental Dakota Candy Display Jar

SKU SMAS062103

Circa 1900-1910 monumental display jar, used in old candy stores as a “show" display jar. This was manufactured with a three part mound pedestal base, and the body of the jar is done with a two part mound. The lid is separate and removable from the body. Made in the United States. Please note of wear consistent with age as seen on the lid which has a large chip. This is not unusual as these were used on a daily basis and the tops were taken on and off. Over time these pieces have suffered from being placed too hard on a marble counter. This size is rare and is priced to reflect the defect. Original as found condition.
