Antique French Chipmunk Cage

A rare and unusual 19th century French chipmunk cage, hand-crafted in wood and iron. The cage is designed in the form of a manor house with twin side pavilions and a central section, complete with a pitched shingle roof and painted gray façade. Iron bars enclose the windows and front gate, which opens on a latch, while remnants of its original painted finish remain, now beautifully aged with patina and wear consistent with age and use.
