Monumental Bronze Spill Cast Sculpture
Monumental mid-century bronze spill cast sculpture in the style of Harry Bertoia. The spill cast technique, an exercise in randomness and chaos, was pioneered by Bertoia in the early 1960s. Molten bronze is poured onto a patch of sand making the form of it's surface impossible to anticipate. This piece is exceptional for it's large size and lyrical movement. This piece is mounted on a rectangular bronze base. Please note of wear consistent with age including patina and oxidation.
