Circa 18th century carved book binder's tool from the print shop of Isaac Collins in Trenton, New Jersey. Collins was the printer and publisher for the first family version of the King James Bible in 1791. The piece is composed of carved wood and Made in the United States. Please note of wear consistent with antique age including patina and wood loss. His print shop produced the Isaac Collins Bible famous for its level of textual accuracy and served as a prototype for American bibles for the next 100 years. 5,000 copies of the Isaac Collins bible were originally printed, now only fewer than 100 are in existence.
